Gnomes and Wizards are technically the same race, just one is born with the ability to use magic and the other cannot. Gnomes can still have facial hair (any gender) but their magical prowess does not come from it. Most gnomes don’t bother ever learning magic, despite the fact that anyone can learn it if they want to.
